Abstract

The village as an extended community of the church was the inspiration for many Romanian poets and writers. The simplicity of the place is given by the gentleness of the people and by the close connection they have with God and themselves. The mystification of the Romanian village was the way of being of the people who have always reported themselves to God. If in ancient times the dialogue was the only healing medicine of the soul, in the Romanian village the dialogue was necessary for a close communion between people, and this begins with a simple greeting. Self-help and communion are nothing but ways of spiritualization of the body and nature. Al the virtues filtered by the Mysteries of the church become spiritualized. The dehumanization is not given by the media but by the loneliness of the modern man, and this loneliness deeply affects whole the village community. The church remains the main nucleus which has the power to restore the communion between people and settle back the link which existed between houses and streets. The catechesis of the people and the rediscovery of Christianity in simplicity can render to the village the mystery of the divine shadow which is a permanent expectation to be revealed.
